I’ve always felt drawn to the stage and everything that comes with it. At the age of six I discovered my love for the theatre and the wish to someday become an actress. After turning eighteen, I auditioned for multiple acting schools and was accepted at the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg (Akademie für Darstellende Kunst BW), obtaining a bachelor’s degree in 2017.
Even while studying at ADK I started to think about ways to combine music and theatre. It felt like a path to achieve my own truth. After finishing my degree, I worked at several theatres in Germany including Theater und Orchester Heidelberg and Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss. And also did some freelance work with Goldstaub e.V., a group of young performers, who worked on ways to portray different forms of performance art, for example exploring how an opera singer and an actress might work together.
After making several new experiences and meeting wonderful colleagues, I felt the need to go back to Hamburg for a little while – my hometown – the place where I was born and raised. Being the child of a professional musician, I had always loved to join my dad at his concerts, seeing and hearing him and his colleagues perform. Sometimes, while growing up, I would join them on stage and sing with them.
Upon my return to Hamburg, my dad (Bo Heart) and I sat down together and developed a concept for a theatrical recital called “Walking in Your Shoes”. We told stories of family relationships, growing with each other and having music as one way to communicate with each other. We had performances at Echtzeit Theater Hamburg and Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall.
At the time Covid-19 struck, all of my shows at the theatre were cancelled and so were Bo’s gigs. We had long hoped to record an album together, so these cancellations finally gave us the time to do so. There’s something magical about father and daughter making music together, at times it feels like one can hear the familiarity come alive in sound.Currently I’m working at Theater Osnabrück, in my current hometown, performing in several shows. In-between those performances, I’m continuing to work on my music.
